In 2009/10 the Department of Health (DH) has decided to end some of the collections from the Autumn Assessment exercise. This is due to the fact that the National Service Framework (NSF) and the 10 year NHS Plan has come to an end. For the Service Mapping Collection the DH recognise that data is still required but perhaps not as detailed.

What has been decided:
  • Finance mapping data collection will be collected this year 2009/10; the DH are waiting for ROCR approval; expected to be launched in December 2009. For details of the Mental Health Finance Mapping, please go to the Finance Mapping Website.
  • There is no Service mapping collection in 2009/10. The DH will review the collection in the new year (2010). The idea is to review future needs of Providers / Commissioners / Services / Ministers and put a collection together in 2010/11.
  • Self Assessment and Themed review exercises are now finished, the last reports are 2008/9 reports. The Self Assessment report is published and the Themed Review national report will be published in early 2010.
Service mapping reports from 2007 to 2009 are still available via this website. Click on the reports button on the left hand side to view the reports.

If you have any queries please e-mail: mapping@nmhdu.org.uk and the National Mental Health Development Unit will respond. Please note that outside of the data collection period the service mapping helpdesk is run by the NMHDU rather than Mental Health Strategies.
